Ira Wilson - 6'7 Wing/Forward - South Wake Sabres

Ira Wilson is a hybrid wing/forward prospect in North Carolina's 2025 class who continues to show off his development as a DII prospect.

Ira Wilson is an emerging wing-forward prospect to get to know with the South Wake Sabres in 2023-24. He’s a 6-foot-7 prospect who’s shown he can operate in a few different roles on the floor given his length and athleticism. He’ll be the leading face for the South Wake Sabres this upcoming season as they perform in the North Carolina Home Education Conference.

Wilson was a solid two-way piece in the Raleigh Christian Academy rotation, finishing with 6.1 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 2.2 APG and 1.5 SPG as a sophomore in 2022-23. He shot 57 percent from the field as his role grew over time with the Eagles. He had a few double-digit performances including a season-high 21 points against Word of God’s Academy team. He’s slowly growing into a glue-guy in the 2025 class with his ability to keep things connected with his size and athleticism in the painted area.

He had a productive spring/summer on the grassroots scene with No Guts No Glory Basketball on the independent stage. He’s got the ability to operate inside and out with his length and skill set at the wing-forward spot. His confidence continues to grow as a threat off the bounce and on the fast break.

He’s due to grow into a bigger role as the lead option for the Sabres. He’ll need to show he can knock down shots with consistency on the perimeter as teams continue to hone in on his prowess on the floor. As he continues his development as a quick decision-maker, rebounder and defender, look for more DII programs in the region to pull the trigger on him. Shaw University has offered him so far.
