Jake Williams - 6'4 Shooting Guard - Sidwell Friends

Get to know Jake Williams, the latest addition to the Gotham Prospects database! He's a sharpshooting guard in the top-ranked Sidwell Friends backcourt who's finding his way in 2023-24.

Gotham Prospects welcomes Jake Williams to the database! He’s an emerging shooting guard prospect out of the DMV area with Sidwell Friends School who’s shown he’s a sharpshooter on the perimeter.

All he needs is just a little bit of space for things to get hot in a hurry when the ball comes in his direction. He currently is averaging 7.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 40 percent from deep on the year. He leads the team in 3-pointers made (24) and is also shooting 41 percent from the overall field in his senior season. He’s proven to fill a solid void at the shooter role for Sidwell Friends this season.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard has knocked down 24 3-pointers across the Sidwell Quakers’ 12 contests, good for 2.0 3-pointers per game heading into the bulk of conference play in the Mid-Atlantic Conference. He’s proven to be a formidable role player in the backcourt with his ability to knock down shots but he also isn’t afraid to be a presence defensively either to get things headed in the opposite direction. He can operate in the passing lanes and create turnovers and does well in the lineup alongside top seniors Caleb Williams and Acaden Lewis.

Caleb Williams is headed to Georgetown while Lewis holds offers from Maryland, Florida State, George Mason, George Washington, among others. Jake Williams remains an unsigned senior name for Mid-Major and DII programs to keep an eye on in the Quakers’ lineup alongside several other prospects. College programs would be wise to get eyes on Sidwell Friends this season.

They’re ranked #16 on MaxPreps this season with a 10-4 record and are currently 2-0 in MAC action. They’ve still got a big meeting coming up on the schedule against Westtown (Jan. 15) and they’ll host Mount St. Joseph on Feb. 3 to round out their non-conference schedule, which has featured some strong competition on the national scale.

Given Williams’ pedigree for competing in such a high-level environment, he should begin to start drawing some interest over the next few months from college programs. Check him out with Sidwell Friends!
