Josiah Rickards - 6'3 Combo Guard - Catholic High
Josiah Rickards is an electric combo guard out of Catholic High in the 757 area due to have a big senior season in the Tidewater Independent region.
Josiah Rickards is a growing name to get to know out of Catholic High in the 2024 class out of Virginia. He returns for a top VISAA high school program after showcasing his skills on the HGSL scene with Team Loaded 757 on the grassroots stage.
He proved he could lead his team to victories again and again this past grassroots cycle while showcasing his high motor and ability to rebound and defend multiple roles on the floor with his 6-foot-3 length. He’s a balanced combo guard with an impressive shooting stroke on the perimeter and budding athleticism who’s climbing up the recruiting radar in the 757 area.
Rickards produced 12.8 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 2.4 APG and 1.8 SPG on 45 percent shooting from the field and 45 percent from deep after knocking down 73 3-pointers as a junior this past year at Catholic High as they finished 34-6 on the season and 7-2 in VISAA Division II. He’s an All-Conference selection starting to emerge as a highly sought-after name in Virginia’s 2024 class. He’s due to really turn things up with his ability to create on the perimeter and off the bounce with athleticism and length after a productive grassroots season.
He’s due to play a big role for the Crusaders as they look to capture a VISAA Division I state title in 2023-24. With an offer from Western Carolina, he continues to gain traction with other Division I programs heading into the final year of his high school career. His best basketball is certainly ahead of him as he continues to develop as an all-around guard in the backcourt.
