OneDayBump 9 Recap & All-Tournament Teams

Morrisville Mobb took home their first championship at OneDayBump 9 as they prepare for the high school season ahead led by a solid core of 2024 names.

Morrisville Mobb (Panther Creek High) got a championship at OneDayBump 9 as they showcased some of their upcoming squad for the upcoming high school season in North Carolina. The Mobb was led by the backcourt exploits of 2024 Chris Uwayo Jr. at the lead guard role while 2024’s Logan Ware and Greg Ehlinger were unstoppable forces in the frontcourt as they took home the championship 61-49. Uwayo led the way with 15.0 PPG, 6.0 APG and 1.0 BPG for the Mobb, leaning heavily on his big men to run the floor and establish themselves in the painted area to show their potential depth this season.

Uwayo was an efficient paint-touching guard who shot 81.3 percent from the floor and 60 percent from deep across their two victories. Ware and Ehlinger are due for big senior seasons in the frontcourt as their squad looks to make another run in the state playoffs in 2023-24. Ware finished with 14.0 PPG while Ehlinger finished with 11.0 PPG and 7.5 RPG as they took home the title and easily earned first-team All-Tournament honors.

2024 wing/forward Cameron Hunter, a recent riser in North Carolina’s 2024 class, continues to show his development as a two-way presence as he was a force on the wing with his ability to attack the paint and defensively with his length and ability to force turnovers.

The Field (Wakefield High) was without some key players in their frontcourt but they didn't go down without a fight as well as they showcased a number of impressive guards across the board at OneDayBump 9. Syncere Burnette was instrumental at the point guard spot for them as he showed he could make things happen for others on the perimeter and in space to set the pace. He produced 9.0 PPH, 6.3 APG, 3.0 RPG and 1.7 SPG across three games for his squad at OneDayBump. As he improves his shooting stroke, look for college programs to look his way this season as an unsigned senior prospect.

2024 Taj Boone-Chambers was a marksman from the perimeter for The Field in knocking down 5 3-pointers from deep and knocked down 20 points in the opening round. He’s a 6-foot-1 threat who showed he could compete on both ends of the floor. Unsigned senior guard Tristan Pretlow was right behind him in the opening game with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field. He’s got some athleticism that should carry him heading into his final season on the hardwood. He finished with 10.0 PPG, 2.0 RPG and 1.3 SPG and shot 37.5 percent from deep across their three appearances in OneDayBump.

Titans (Thales Academy-Apex) were led by the top two scorers at OneDayBump 9 in 2024 guard Nathan Purvis and 2025 wing Justin Brown. Brown finished with 20.5 PPG to lead all scorers while Purvis finished second with 16.0 PPG. The Titans went 1-1 on the day at OneDayBump 9 as they got 20 points from Brown, an emerging 2025 wing prospect in the state. He’s got the ability to operate with and without the ball in his hands and finishes tough in traffic. He averaged 20.5 PPG, 11.0 RPG, 4.0 BPG and 2.5 APG on 59.3 percent shooting from the floor on the day. He’s a budding name for DII programs in the region to get to know and as he adds to his frame, he’s due to continue his development.

Purvis exploded for 26 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the floor and three made 3-pointers for the Titans in the opening game against The Land despite the result.

2025 guard James Harris was another standout 3-point presence for The Land (Cleveland High). He knocked down six 3-pointers and averaged 10.0 PPG including 18 points on three made 3-pointers against Titans in their opening victory. He shot 60 percent from 3-point land to show off his ability to be an efficient perimeter threat in space.

2025 point guard Rodney Poston was the leading name for The Land with his work in the backcourt. Despite their limited numbers, he managed to play effortlessly with his lead-by-example style of play. He’s a strong-framed 5-foot-10 guard who put up 12.0 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 3.0 APG and 3.3 SPG across their three games at OneDayBump. He filled up the stat sheet with 18 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals on 8-for-13 shooting and two made 3-pointers in their opening victory.

MVP: Logan Ware, Morrisville Mobb

Ware proved his toughness and effectiveness around the painted area in shooting 82.4 percent from the hardwood for the Morrisville Mobb. He had a number of big dunks and finishes around the painted area and showed off his ability to alter shots around the rim. He showed he’s ready to turn some heads as a tweener DI/DII prospect heading into his senior season.
