Sebastian Whitfield - 2025 Wing - Cape Henry Collegiate
A hot commodity is emerging in the 757 area in 6-foot-6 wing Sebastian Whitfield
Sebastian Whitfield is a junior prospect out of the Virginia Beach area at Cape Henry Collegiate School who’s starting to see his recruitment grow in the state. He’s a skilled athletic finisher who’s starting to find his way on the perimeter just as well entering the 2023-24 season.
He’s a creator on the perimeter who isn’t afraid to get his paint touches and make things happen for others when drawing other defenders. He’s an unselfish backcourt presence who leads by example with his ability to shoot the basketball and finish in the open floor.
Whitfield was a top name to know on the EYBL scene with Boo Williams on the grassroots scene this past summer as he posted 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest on 35.3 percent shooting from deep and 39.8 percent shooting from the field against EYBL competition this past cycle.
Texas A&M and Old Dominion have already offered him as he heads into a pivotal part of his recruitment. He’s a Gotham Prospect who should grow over the next few months with interest from a number of MM Division 1 programs at the next level.
He’s a terror to stop when he really gets going and is one of the top sharpshooters in VA’s 2025 class given his length and prowess on the perimeter. He’s got limitless range he’s ready to showcase when he steps on the floor and tremendous mechanics with his shooting that should intrigue a number of college programs. With his speed with the ball, athleticism around the rim and confidence as a scorer, he should emerge as a top name in the Gotham Prospects database soon enough.
