Tyler Bell - 2024 Forward/Center - Maury High School
Bell is a late-blooming unsigned senior prospect who turned heads this past June and a name to watch in the 757 at Maury High School
Tyler Bell is an emerging 6-foot-8 forward prospect in Virginia’s 2024 class out of Maury High School with offers from Elizabeth City State and Virginia Union headed into his senior season. He’s a versatile forward prospect who’s capable of defending a few different roles on the floor given his mobility and athleticism. He plays a physical brand of basketball that exudes toughness and grit. He’s a hard-working kid who’s shown his development by improving his frame and his ability to defend the painted area.
Bell has shown he can operate as a forward-center prospect with his skill set on the hardwood. He’s shown he’s capable of finishing around the rim with authority and continues to show his development as a paint presence who can defend the rim with his fearlessness to block shots. He’s got an impressive motor he’s begun to utilize on the hardwood which has allowed him to showcase his skill set as an all-around forward presence who can impact the game in a variety of ways.
He’ll play a pivotal piece in the Commodores’ frontcourt after they went 20-6 this past season and 13-1 in the Eastern Region. He’s surrounded by an impressive cast of junior and senior prospects who should compete for a VHSL State crown once again after making last year’s Final Four.
